family bike ride this Sunday 10/17
The Beverly Improvement Association will host a family bike ride this Sunday 10/17, starting at 3:30 p.m. from Cosme Park, 91st St. by the Metra station. Everyone is invited to join their neighbors for a short bike ride along the Major Taylor Trail (about 2.5 miles round trip). It's a great way to enjoy the beautiful fall colors.
wildlife in Beverly
One of our neighborhood coyotes took a stroll down Damen this morning. Around 10 a.m., I came out to do some garden clean-up. A woman walking her dog asked if I'd seen the coyote. Apparently it had gone down Damen from 96th to 98th just before I came out. A little while later, a few neighbors were saying that they'd seen it, too.
Has Wily Coyote paid a visit to your block? If you have small dogs or cats, you may not want to let them out unsupervised. Coyotes tend to be shy around people, but they like to eat smaller animals. Don't let your pet become a meal for a coyote!
