19th ward blizzard response

And there has been no response from Matt O'Shea or Phil Sherlock to my question as to how they might handle a future blizzard if they were elected.

  4. Maybe there hasn't been a response from Matt because he's been busy actually handling the blizzard. No doubt about it - he's working harder than the other candidates.

  6. Umm but, spaulding has no snow on the west side of the street in front of the school property at all! And there is no snow from the curb all the way to the opposite side of the sidewalk.. and it has been that way for a couple days how is that a disaster?!?!

  7. What about the sidewalks and the Homan side of Cassell. That snow was just removed after MANY complaints from the parents. At first little pathways were cleared, then the area now. WHERE THE BUSES PARK. What about the rest of the area?

  8. Who does Cassell hire to plow the snow? Schools hire their own plowers, and this should include sidewalks. This is paid with discretionary funds, so it's an administrative issue on the school property and the surrounding sidewalks.

  9. First you said Matt is handling it now you're saying its the schools problem. Which is it?

  10. Matt had a good grip on the snow removal, though there is a ward superintendent who has decision making power. Matt (or anyone in that role) would field calls and try to assist, hard as it is. He did a great job. He does not dictate snow removal on CPS property, nor does the ward superintendent. What don't you understand?

  11. Would Matt have been involved if there wasn't an election coming up? Isn't that for our Alderman to oversee?

  12. He's the alderman's aide. What's your point?

  13. Does anyone know what heppened at Schaible's office tonight? Maybe the "proud wife of a CPD officer" can fill us in. I heard it was a racial fight between her own campaign staff and a few were taken in ambulances. They also attacked CPD who showed up at the scene. I wish I was joking!
