fun on Saturday morning

Have you ever tried Open Streets in the city? We're getting a suburban version this Saturday morning in Oak Forest. A mile-long section of Cicero Ave. will be closed to car traffic and open to bike and pedestrian traffic. There will also be a 5K run, followed by a parade and an all-day festival. Check out the event flier for Oak Forest Fleadh.

Does Beverly ever do that?? Besides the Ridge Run and Memorial Day?

Open Streets is a relatively new event in the Chicago area. Closing the street in Oak Forest a little earlier, when it was already scheduled to be closed for the parade, worked out great. I think it would be great if we did this in Beverly.

It would be kinda cool to have something in autumn. Close a street and have a short run and/or walk.
