Will erasing Cole Hall from the landscape of Northern Illinois University erase the horrible memories of the 2/14 shootings? I think not. More harm than healing is likely to come from such an act of denial. The $40M it would cost to tear it down and rebuild it would be better spent on rehabbing other buildings that need it rather than tearing down a structurally sound building.
