how bicycles helped bring Curious George to us

There's an interesting story in the Sun-Times this a.m. Many of us know the Curious George children's books. The story of how the author and illustrator of those beloved books escaped from France into Spain and Portugal by bicycle and made their way to America, where their books were later published. A new exhibit at the Illinois Holocaust Museum, opening tomorrow, tells their story. And you can get there by bike via a spur from the North Branch Trail.
