bold burglars
What common thread do you notice between these incident listings from EveryBlock? Most of them happened between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. on a weekday morning, when there's usually a bit of traffic as kids go to school and people go to work (or come home from overnight shifts). This is a change from the pattern we were seeing for a while where a lot of burglaries were happening at 3 or 4 a.m.

This pattern suggests to me that the burglars are watching carefully to see when people are leaving for the day. Yikes!
I have an idea they may be watching from their apartment which has a front view of Wood St. and a rear view of Hale and as they are higher than the first floor on 104th St. with an outdoor rear porch they can run up and down those stairs and keep an eye on who's left on the train or pulled out of a parking lot on Walden, Hale, etc. I personally almost had a heart attack a few days ago when I passed my neighbor on the sidewalk and she was wearing a piece of vintage heirloom clothing that matched an exact piece (with the exact antique heirloom brooch)that was presently safely ensconced in my closet upstairs. Or so I thought. Upon my arrival home all I found were three empty swinging hangars. I actually had the nerve to ask her the next day about the jacket because it was very important to me and all my family. She very coolly told me I must have mistaken her for someone else. BS. Wrong, I told her, it was you. Stay out. I bought a dog. A big one. Careful everyone. They are a white couple, thirty something and BFF's with a thirty something black couple in the flat next door or a few doors down. Many of their friends have out of state plates parked with no sticker. a few very good Xeroxes of the sticker. Burglary Ring????????? Who knows? My stuffs crap.
Sorry to hear that you lost your vintage treasures. Have you filed a police report? Whether or not your items have significant cash value, giving the police more information (especially the fact that you knew the person wearing your stolen stuff) could help them to make arrests.
I've continued to follow the burglary reports on EveryBlock, and the pattern of morning break-ins has continued for most of the incidents listed.
