On Saturday 6/6, we'll have a special event on the Major Taylor Trail at 111th St. Join us from 11 am to 1 pm for a ribbon cutting to celebrate a new temporary art installation and a look at a natural area restoration in progress.
This is a family friendly event where you can see see Holding Space by Chicago-based artist Nnenna Okore, learn more about the new natural area along the trail south of 111th, make some art of your own, and enjoy some light refreshments with your neighbors.

If you are coming by car, please drive into the 95th/Ashland Jewel parking and look for our tent (see photo below) on the west side of the parking lot next to the trail.
Please dress for yard work. If you have work gloves, please bring them. There will be some gloves available for use but it's not an infinite supply.

There's a lot of overgrowth along the trail in some spots between 91st and 95th. We will have a clean-up workday on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 pm when the area is in shade.
Please bring work gloves, loppers, rakes, etc. If you have a hedge trimmer, that would make faster work of it in some areas.
Even if you don't have tools, you can help. We'll need people to move piles of cut brush to the curb for later pickup.
Best parking location - Beverly Blvd. just east of the trail. If you aren't familiar with driving to this location, you need to enter from 91st and Ashland. Go west on 91st and turn left just before the Metra tracks.

Our annual Major Taylor celebration ride is happening on Sat. 9/7 at Dan Ryan Woods Grove 16 (north side of 83rd St., just east of Western). Ride distances are 16 miles and 30 miles.
If money is tight, you can use discount code MTTKC to ride for free. If you can afford to donate, all donations to our 501(C)(3) help us with putting on events and working for trail improvements.

There's a trail ride happening on Sat. 5/20 starting at 9 am. We'll ride about 16-20 miles, depending on what we decide at the start of the ride.

This Saturday will be a follow-up on 2 previous meetings to gather community input on development ideas for areas adjacent to the Major Taylor Trail near 119th and Halsted. Many excellent ideas have been suggested.
